Book on tradition of Vietnam People’s Army launched
Marking the 73rd founding anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) and the 28th Whole People’s Defense Festive Day (December 22), the Institute of Military Social Sciences and Humanities under the Ministry of National Defense in collaboration with the People's Army Publishing House published a book on the tradition of the Vietnam People's Army by General Ngo Xuan Lich, member of the Politburo, Deputy-Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Defense Minister.
Finding Memories show in Hanoi’s Hoa Lo Prison
Documents, photographs and memorabilia of American prisoners of war went on show at Tim Lai Ky Uc (Finding Memories) in Hoa Lo Prison on November 29 and will run until February, 2018.
Hoa Lo Prison museum recalls memories of war
The Management Board of the Hoa Lo Prison Relic on November 29 opened a special exhibition titled “Recalling memories”, to mark the 45th anniversary of the historic battle Vietnam waged against an overwhelming force of US B-52 bombers in December 1972 – or the "Dien Bien Phu in the Air campaign" as it became known – with many of the bombers being shot down and their crews taken into captivity by local people.
